Eton mess is a traditional English dessert normally consisting of a mixture of strawberries, pieces of meringue and cream which is traditionally served at Eton College's annual cricket game against the students of Harrow School. The dish has been known by this name since the 19th century!

Anyway that's the history lesson over and we've moved on since then but kept the traditional recipe and added some additional soft seasonal fruits as well as a deep red berry puree at the bottom. It's more of a tidy than a mess but the taste is exquisite.
